You're exhausted from carrying too much, like everything depends on you. Maybe your mind never seems to slow down, you worry constantly, overthink conversations, or feel on edge, even when others tell you nothing is wrong. The constant comparisons to others feed the thought, "there's something wrong with me". Maybe you feel disconnected from yourself, struggling to find motivation and wondering why things that used to matter, no longer do. You hate being a burden on others so you isolate and lose those relationships you love.
2 | Anxiety is often a symptom of trauma.
Anxiety isn't always about what's happening today. Sometimes it is your nervous system responding to experiences that taught your brain the world wasn't safe. Even when life has changed, your body may continue reacting as though the danger is still present.
-
Trauma can cause anxiety because it changes how the brain and body respond to danger. After a traumatic experience, your nervous system may begin acting as though the threat is still present - even when you're objectively safe.

-
After trauma, our fight or flight response can become easier to trigger. As a result you might experience:
- Feeling constantly on edge
- Being easily startled
- Muscle tension
- Racing heart
- Trouble sleeping
- Difficulty relaxing

ART therapy for anxiety and depression
Step-by-step

Step one
Our first few sessions will be spent in the "digging process" - discovering your current triggers and life stressors. Sometimes past traumas or significant life events could be contributing to your current anxiety and depression.

Step two
Once a "treatment map" is determined and laid out, we will begin using Accelerated Resolution Therapy, or ART, to resolve difficulties by changing the way your brain recalls and interprets those stressors, whether they are current or from your past.

Step three
After completing the needed ART sessions, you will begin to notice changes in your daily life as your current stressors will begin to lose their hold on you. You will feel lighter, freer, and have more ability to cope with day-to-day struggles.
